Psychotherapy for adults and adolescents

I work with adults, adolescents and couples. In my practice, I work with people dealing with (but not limited to):

You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply searching for a space where you can make sense of things. Whether you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, or a general sense of unhappiness, therapy can offer a way forward.

Individual psychotherapy involves ongoing hourly sessions that are scheduled either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on the need. The therapeutic process can last anywhere between a few weeks to years. The treatment timeframe is informed by the presenting problem, desire to continue therapy and resources availible. This service is offered both online and in-person.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is a type of psychotherapy in which a registered psychologist experienced in working with couples uses various therapeutic interventions to help people in romantic relationships gain insight into their relationship, resolve conflicts, and enhance relationship satisfaction.

Research has shown that couples often avoid seeking intervention in their troubled relationship. Couples therapy is typically suggested for those looking to address issues affecting their relationship negatively. Couples turn to couples therapy or marriage counselling to manage the resulting stress in their relationship. Therapy aims to enhance communication between partners and understand the events contributing to negative or complex emotions.

Couples therapy is beneficial for addressing various relationship challenges, including, but not limited to, power dynamics, intimacy issues, sexual dissatisfaction, intimate partner abuse, infidelity, and communication difficulties, as well as managing conflicts. Therapy explores many aspects of a relationship and often reveals issues that were not previously recognised or addressed, which can be very helpful, particularly if a couple is contemplating divorce or separation or seeking to enhance the quality of their relationship.

Important Note Regarding Online Therapy

At the moment, I offer online sessions via MS Teams. To make sure things run smoothly, you’ll need a reliable internet connection, a working camera, and a private, quiet space where you feel comfortable talking.

It’s also worth mentioning that online therapy isn’t for everyone. Online sessions are not suitable for people currently in crisis, experiencing suicidal thoughts or self-harm, or needing more intensive support like inpatient care.
